Stop #1 - Rennick Village, Gallacia, alternate Earth, early 1900s

Location Information

The circus wagons circle up on a green field outside a quaint little town of perhaps eight or nine thousand people at most, nestled in a swatch of pleasant countryside. The town is all cobblestone and thatched rooftops and black scaffolding on whitewashed walls, full of a variety of curious people who have a little pocket change to spend on cute plush toys, enchanting animals, and fried food.

Rennick Village is in a small country called Gallacia in a world that is very much like Earth, if the western British Isle was a little bit bigger and had a fourth country stuck between England and Scotland. That fourth country is Gallacia, a country of people who love to fight but are very bad at it, whose widows are the traditional makers of their country's terrible alcohol, who have seven different sets of pronouns including one specifically for children, one for soldiers, and one for God. They speak English perfectly well, not that the Ringmaster ever allows linguistic differences to interfere with his people entertaining the crowds, though tend to default to their own pronouns when English doesn't translate well enough. They are very proud of their small yet terrible military and the disgusting fruits of their poor widows' labor. If somebody offers you livrit, it might be best if you decline.

The technological level seems about on the level of the late 1800s or early 1900s at best, but as this is a small village in a poor country before even the first world war, a lot of that technology hasn't reached Rennick Village yet. There is a single motorcar, a telegraph station that hasn't really seen a lot of use lately, a couple radios, and a lot of horses.

For those who head outside the town, most of the nearest countryside is farmland, though there's some rocky heath-covered hillsides beyond that are fit mostly for sheep and hardy cattle, and some woodlands with the local nobility's manors to the north, on the border of Scotland.

Our current location is brought to you by T Kingfisher's horror novella What Moves the Dead!

Mission Sign-ups

Each character may sign up for up to two missions, though multiple characters may participate in the actual event. It's fine if not all the missions are taken.

Some missions have different levels of difficulty. Easy level missions are for one or two characters, moderate level missions are best for two or three characters, and difficult missions may take up to four, though of course if you want to tackle it alone you certainly can. More details will be made available when the missions are taken.
